For Dr. Vargas, the best part about being a dentist is developing personal connections with her patients and
going on a lifetime journey where she enables them to enjoy a healthy, beautiful smile at all times. She truly

Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Following her graduation from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Vargas went on to
complete a one-year General Practice Residency at Bellevue Hospital. Outside of her formal training, she remains
committed to expanding her knowledge and skills through continuing education, and actively participates in a number
of renowned advanced training programs.
Dr. Vargas will be adding a number of new services to Newton Corner Dental Care, including:
Invisalign clear braces
Basic oral surgery and tooth extractions
Endodontic treatments, including root canals
Why Did You Want to Become a Dentist?
Growing up, Dr. Vargas always excelled in math and science, and she had a deep desire to give back to the
community, so a career in healthcare sounded like the perfect fit. Initially, she wanted to become a nurse, and to
help Dr. Vargas save for nursing school, her grandmother got her a job doing custodial work at her dentist’s office.
This connection allowed Dr. Vargas to see firsthand how a dentist can change people’s lives on a daily basis, and
that’s when she decided to switch to dentistry.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
When Dr. Vargas is not helping patients achieve their dream smile, she loves spending time with her family. Today,
she is happily engaged, and together they take care of a 6-year old Chipoo (or Chihuahua/poodle mix) named Bella. In
her free time, she likes to bake, hike, and even sculpt dental filling at home for practice!
