Why Did You Want to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Cowan has always enjoyed working with his hands and helping others. When he realized he could combine those two interests as a dentist, he never looked back! Now, he has more than six years of experience in the dental field. All these years later, he’s just as passionate about helping his patients improve the look, health, and function of their smiles.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Cowan attended the University of West Georgia before completing dental school at The Dental College of Georgia. Passionate about continuing education and advanced training, his studies were far from over though. Following graduation, he completed a 2-year GPR with a surgical emphasis and underwent more than 800 CE hours! If that wasn’t impressive enough, he also earned his Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and he’s maintained active memberships with the:
-
American Dental Association
-
Georgia Dental Association
-
American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
-
Academy of General Dentistry
-
American Academy of Implant Dentistry
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Cowan’s wife recently finished medical school and is a resident with Harvard at Mass General Hospital! Together, they have two daughters. Outside of dentistry and spending time with his family, Dr. Cowan’s interests include watching sports (mostly basketball), working out, and boxing. Here’s something you might not know about him: he played basketball in college!
