Dr. Maria Vargas

We are thrilled to announce the addition of Dr. Maria Vargas to the Newton Corner Dental Care team! She will be supporting Dr. Anjomi to provide more flexible hours to help our patients schedule their appointments, and expand the services offered here in our practice. Thanks to her advanced training, Dr. Vargas will provide a range of new services, including basic oral surgery as well as in-house extractions and root canals, allowing our patients access to comprehensive care in one convenient location! Dr. Vargas looks forward to getting to know everyone in the community and helping Dr. Anjomi continue to offer the friendly, high-quality care that our practice is known for.

Dr. Marcus Cowan

Newton Corner Dental Care is excited to welcome another exceptional dentist to our team, Dr. Marcus Cowan! Since earning his dental doctorate from The Dental College of Georgia, he has completed more than 800 CE hours and earned his Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (just a few of his many accomplishments). However, his genuine passion for helping others is equally as impressive, and he’s excited to help our patients on their journeys to their best smiles.

Linda - Administrative Coordinator

Linda’s hometown is Saugus, MA! Throughout her career, she has studied at Middlesex Community College, Salem State University, and Northeastern University/Tufts Dental School. Today, she has an impressive 40+ years of experience in the field. To this day, her favorite part is interacting with the patients and staff. She and her husband have three wonderful sons and three incredible grandchildren together. Traveling, reading, and hanging out with her loved ones are some of her favorite ways to spend her time away from the practice.

Mary - Front Office Patient Coordinator

Mary was born and raised right here in Massachusetts! So, she’s very excited to be helping her friends and neighbors have the positive dental experience they deserve. With roughly five years of experience in the world of dentistry, she joined our team in 2021. So far, her favorite part of her job is the friendly work environment. Outside the office, she likes spending time with her fiancé making dinner, watching TV, and playing video games. Here’s something you may not know about her: she’s very passionate about fashion! In fact, she loves dressing up and going to themed festivals and conventions.

Victoria - Dental Hygienist

Victoria is new to our team, but she already loves that her job allows her to help people feel more confident about their smiles! She’s always ready to provide the best care possible to new and returning patients alike.

At home, Victoria and her boyfriend Jordan have two dogs: Kona (a Pyrenees) and Oliver (a Beagle). Some of her favorite hobbies include hiking, kayaking, baking, and reading. She also LOVES to travel – in fact, she’s been to 16 national parks so far, with hopefully more to come!

Meghan - Dental Hygienist

Meghan is originally from Plant City, Florida. Today, she is a Registered Dental Hygienist who has undergone additional training in local anesthesia, basic life support, and OSHA bloodborne pathogens. When asked, she shared one of her favorite aspects of her job is educating patients and seeing the difference it makes in their oral health – it’s so rewarding! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, exploring new places in New England, and trying foods from different cultures.

Shu - Certified Dental Assistant

Shu is originally from Taiwan, where she received her BA in Library Science from Fu Jen University in Taipei. Shu became Dean of Library at Won Nan Institute of Technology. In 1986, Shu immigrated to the United States with her family and in 1990 she received her Dental Assistant Certificate from Bryman Education Center in Brookline MA. In 1995, she completed the National Board of Dental Assisting examination and became a Certified Dental Assistant. Shu is also a registered Dental Assistant with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Shu is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese. During her spare time, Shu enjoys baking and spending time with her family.

Janet - Dental Hygienist

Janet graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene. Her caring nature becomes evident the moment patients meet her. She goes above and beyond to provide excellent care to patients and emphasizes a team approach between herself and her patients in order to help them reach their optimal oral health. She is very detailed oriented, which allows her to be very thorough when providing her professional dental prophylaxis procedures. Janet’s favorite part of her job is being able to see patients’ progress and improvement over time as well as developing a great relationship with them.

Outside of work, Janet and her husband are sponsoring a child through World Vision. She loves traveling, painting, as well as fine dining.

Stephany - Certified Dental Assistant

For nearly a decade now, Stephany has spent her days serving those in her community as a Dental Assistant. Since she used to struggle with dental anxiety, she goes above and beyond to make each patient’s experience as calm and enjoyable as possible. Although she is originally from Cambridge-Boston, she attended dental school in Brazil! Since then, she has completed training in OHSA, CPR, and infection control. Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, singing, and playing guitar.

Jean - Front Office Patient Coordinator

Jean earned an Associates Degree in Marketing and Management from DeKalb College in Dunwoody, Georgia in 1986. She received her Dental Assisting Diploma from The Bryman Education Center in Brookline, MA in 1980. Jean transitioned to Front Office Patient Coordinator in 1990 and has worked in both General and Specialty Dental Practices in the Boston area. Jean joined our dental office in June 2016. Jean enjoys gardening, reading and spending time with her children.

Janine - Certified Dental Assistant

With an impressive 15 years of experience under her belt, Janine joined our team in 2023. In addition to studying at the Everest Institute, she is certified in OSHA, CPR, CDC infection control, Zoom! Whitening, and several other treatments. Plus, she has extensive experience with Invisalign and SureSmile clear aligners! When she was asked what she loves most about her job, she said that it’s making a difference in people’s appearance and dental health. At home, she has two children (Santino and Gia Del Carmen) as well as a baby bunny, Bubba! When she isn’t at the office, you can find her spending time with her kids, doing hair, going to sporting events, and traveling.
